POT#21 POTATO BLAST

Let us now check out the required ingredients.

Ingredients:

Potato (medium size) - 5
Coriander leaves        - 2 tbsp
Cheese (grated)         - 1/4 cup
Red chili powder        - 1/2 tsp  
Turmeric powder        - 1/4 tsp
Cumin powder            - 1/2 tsp
Corriander powder      - 1/2 tsp
Salt                              - 1/2 tsp  
Butter                           - 2 tbsp 

Procedure:

  1. Wash the potatoes well and slice it into two halves.
  2. Cook the potatoes up to two whistles. Allow it to cool down.
  3. Now scoop out the center portion of the potatoes. Save it for later purposes.
  4. Heat a pan and coat the pan well with a cube of butter.
  5. Invert and place the scooped potatoes. Allow it to cook for five minutes.
  6. Meanwhile, smash the scooped out potatoes well.
  7. Add turmeric powder, cumin powder, and coriander powder to it.
  8. Also add red chili powder, salt, and chopped coriander leaves.
  9. Mix well until all the ingredients are combined well.
  10. After five minutes, you would likely see a crispy golden layer formed over the potatoes.
  11. Now stuff these potatoes with the prepared masal.
  12.  Spread the grated cheese over the stuffed potatoes.
  13. Place them on the pan. Cover and cook for 5 more minutes.
  14. Cheesy potato blasts are now ready to serve.

Tips and Tricks:

  1. Wash and clean the potatoess well before using it.
  2. Do not overcook the potatoes, it might turn mushy and will not turn crispy.
  3. Carefully scoop out the potatoes, without tearing the skin of the potatoes.
  4. Add a good amount of butter to the pan so that you don't burn the potatoes.
  5. Also, cook it in low flame.
  6. You can very well replace the butter with any cooking oil.
  7. You can also try these potato blasts with baby potatoes.
  8. Finally, it tastes great when served hot along with tomato sauce.
