Procedure:
- Take a cup of cleaned florets in a blender. Add onion, chili, garlic, ginger, and fennel seeds to it.
- Blend it coarsely and transfer it to a mixing bowl.
- Now add a cup of gram flour, and salt to it and mix well.
- Make the mixture to small balls.
- Dust it with rice flour.
- Heat oil in a pan, deep fry the balls in the oil.
- Serve the hot kola balls with sauce or any kind of chutney.
Tips and Tricks:
- Fry the kola balls in a medium flame to get it golden brown and as well as to get it cooked.
- Dusting the balls in rice flour/ corn flour before frying makes the balls crispy.
- Also, you can dip the kola balls in maida(APF) paste and dip in bread crumbs for a crispier snack.
- Adjust the spiciness as per your taste.
- Add lemon juice to the mixture for a tangy taste, it is completely optional.
- For a healthier snack, you can bake it in a preheated oven at 180 degrees celsius for 15- 20 minutes.
