POT#16 PINEAPPLE TAWA GRILL

 Pineapple, an exotic fruit, generally grown in tropical and sub-tropical countries. It has a sweet edible fleshy part inside, covered with a spiky structure outside. 

Pineapples are rich in vitamin C, which helps out in boosting up your immune system. Also, it is the only known source of  Bromelain, known to be a protein-digesting enzyme. Moreover, it is also a source of other vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin B6, magnesium, manganese, and many more.

Here is a recipe for an easy and exotic party starter, a tinch of spice amidst the sweetness of pineapple.

Let us now check out the required ingredients.

Ingredients:

Pineapple                - 1 medium-sized
Red chili powder      - 3/4 tsp
Cane sugar              - 1 tsp
Salt                          - 1/2 tsp
Cumin Powder         - 1 tsp   
Pepper powder        - 1/2 tsp
Lemon juice             - 1/2 lemon
Butter                       - a small piece

Procedure:

  1. Peel and cut the pineapple into slices.
  2. In mixing bowl, take a 3/4 tsp of red chili powder, 1 tsp of cumin powder, and 1/2 tsp of pepper powder.
  3. Also add 1 tsp of cane sugar, 1/2 tsp of salt, and lemon juice. Give a quick mix.
  4. Now add the pineapples to the bowl, marinate the pineapple slices.
  5. Heat a wok, grease it with a good amount of butter.
  6. Place the pineapple slices on the wok. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Flip over the slices and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  8. The hot spicy caramelized pineapple Tawa grill is now ready to taste. 

Tips and Tricks:

  1. You can cut the pineapple into round slices or straight wedges.
  2. You can replace the cane sugar with powdered jaggery, sugar, or any kind of sweeteners.
  3. You can also use a grilling pan, or a sandwich griller to grill the pineapple slices.
  4. You can substitute lemon juice with dry mango powder.
  5. You can also add chat masala powder for an enhanced taste.
